These terms apply to the Dopamine Chic website, in all its country and language versions, and to the Dopamine Chic app. By using them you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Dopamine Chic.
1. Who we are
Dopamine Chic is run by Dropcatcher.nl B.V., Horsterweg 24, 6119 AC Maastricht, the Netherlands, KvK 70251924 (“we”). You can reach us at contact@dopaminechic.com.
2. What Dopamine Chic is
2.1 Dopamine Chic is a free shopping game that looks like a designer outlet. You can browse, fill a bag, “pay” and follow a parcel, but nothing is real.
2.2 Nothing is for sale. Pressing “Order now” or any similar button does not create a purchase or any other contract for goods. No money is taken, no card is charged and nothing is delivered. The “Dopamine Card” shown at checkout is not a payment card.
2.3 “Refunds” are part of the game. You are always refunded €0.00, because you never paid anything.
2.4 Order numbers, confirmations, tracking steps, non-delivery reasons and refund messages are invented. You must not present them to anyone as proof of a real purchase, payment or delivery.
3. Brands, products and pictures
3.1 Every brand, product and person on Dopamine Chic is invented. Any resemblance to a real brand, label, product or person is a coincidence and does not mean that they endorse or are connected with us.
3.2 All product photos and other pictures are generated by artificial intelligence. They show items that don’t exist.
3.3 Prices, discounts, “was” prices, stock levels, sizes, countdowns, campaigns, flash sales, deals and the number of “people looking” are part of the game. They follow a schedule we set and are not real market data. The “money you didn’t spend” counter is not a real saving.
4. Who can use Dopamine Chic
4.1 Dopamine Chic is for personal, non-commercial use by people aged 16 and over.
4.2 You may not:
- copy, scrape or collect the catalogue, pictures or texts with automated tools;
- interfere with how the site or app works, or try to get around its limits or security;
- use Dopamine Chic to mislead others, for example by passing off its order confirmations as real;
- use our name, the invented brands or the pictures for your own products or advertising.
4.3 You may share screenshots and the share images Dopamine Chic makes for you, for example on social media, as long as you don’t present them as a real purchase.
5. Your game data
5.1 Your orders, wishlist, sizes, savings and achievements are kept on our server, linked to a random ID in a cookie or in the app, not to your name. The app also keeps them on your phone. If you link the app and the website, they share the same game. See the privacy policy.
5.2 “Clear my data” on your account page or in the app deletes your game data on our server, for all your linked devices, and removes the dc_id cookie. If you clear your browser data, change device or uninstall the app without linking another device first, that device loses its link to your game data on our server, and we can’t restore your game. You can link the app to your game yourself with the code on your account page. Anyone who gets hold of a device linked to your game can see and change it; if you lose a phone, give your game a new ID in the app, which disconnects all other devices.
5.3 Achievements, streaks and savings have no money value. They can’t be exchanged, sold or transferred, except by linking your own devices with the code on your account page.
6. Notifications
Notifications are optional and off until you turn them on. You can turn them off at any time in the notification settings, your browser or your phone. They describe things in the game, such as a parcel that will never arrive.
7. Ads
Dopamine Chic is free because it shows ads. Ads come from Google and its partners. We are not responsible for the content of ads or for the websites they lead to. Ads are real; the shop is not. How ads use cookies is explained in the cookie policy.
8. Our content
The site, the app and everything in them (texts, designs, invented brands, pictures, code, the schedule of the shop) are owned by us or used under licence and are protected by copyright and other rights. These terms give you the right to use Dopamine Chic for yourself as described above, and no other rights.
9. Availability and changes to the game
9.1 We try to keep Dopamine Chic available, but we can’t promise it will always work without interruptions or errors.
9.2 We may change the game at any time: the brands, campaigns, prices, non-delivery reasons, achievements and features. We may also stop Dopamine Chic. If we stop it, we will announce this on the site at least 30 days in advance where we can.
10. Liability
10.1 Dopamine Chic is a free game. We are not liable for loss or damage that results from using it or from not being able to use it, such as lost game data, unless the loss is caused by our intent or gross negligence.
10.2 Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or any rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
11. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example when we add features or when the law changes. We will publish the new version with its date. If a change matters for you, we will tell you on the site at least 14 days before it takes effect. If you continue to use Dopamine Chic after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can simply stop using it.
12. Questions and complaints
Email contact@dopaminechic.com. We answer within 3 working days and try to resolve complaints within 14 days.
13. Law and courts
13.1 Dutch law applies to these terms and to your use of Dopamine Chic.
13.2 If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring a dispute before the courts of that country. Otherwise, disputes go to the competent court in Maastricht, the Netherlands.
14. The app stores
If you use the app, the terms of the App Store or Google Play also apply between you and Apple or Google. For the app itself, these terms apply.
