Dopamine Chic: the fashion dopamine site
A designer outlet with daily brand sales, flash sales and “only 1 left in your size”. Yet checkout always costs ٠ SAR, and the parcel never arrives.
Why I built it
Most of the pleasure of shopping happens before you pay: the hunt, the countdown, the moment you get the last one in your size. But then comes the bill, and often a parcel with something you didn’t really need.
I wanted to find out whether the first part can exist without the second. So I built a designer outlet where everything works like the real thing, except the money and the delivery. The card is pretend, checkout always costs nothing, and instead of a parcel you get one of 50 ways for it not to arrive.
I don’t know yet whether a pretend purchase satisfies the same urge as a real one. That’s the question I’m most curious about, and I’d love to hear what people find.

What makes it different
Fashion, done properly.
Most dopamine sites imitate food delivery or sell whimsical objects. Dopamine Chic is a believable designer outlet: new brand sales every day, flash sales, a deal of the hour and sizes that sell out.
The delivery is the punchline.
Parcels fail to arrive in 50 different ways, each with its own story, and you can collect them all.
Friends can hurry the courier.
Send a parcel’s tracking to friends with one link. Anyone can tap “Hurry the courier”, but the more people hurry it, the worse it goes, until the parcel ends up in the Svalbard seed vault.
It counts the money you didn’t spend.
Every pretend purchase adds to a running total of money that stayed in your account.
Private by design.
No account and no personal data. Your orders are kept on our server under a random ID, never your name, and “Clear my data” deletes them at any time.
A real app, not only a website.
It works offline, even on a plane, and has home-screen widgets.
Lost in transit
Every country has its own delivery failure:
“An urban fox at the London depot has buried your parcel for later. It has done this before.”
- In Warsaw, a pigeon claims your parcel as its territory.
- In Amsterdam, a heron guards it.
- In Newark, a raccoon moves into it.
- And if your friends hurry the courier too hard, the parcel ends up above the Arctic Circle, in the Svalbard seed vault.
Quotes you can use

Questions and answers
What is a dopamine site?
A site where you browse, order and check out as in a real shop, but nothing is charged and nothing is delivered. The name comes from the little rush a purchase gives you. They started in South Korea and spread around the world this year.
Why fashion?
Because that’s where the rush of a deal is strongest: the countdown, the last size, a price cut by two-thirds. And it’s where many of us have bought things we never wore.
Is anything ever charged?
No. The card is pretend and already filled in, and there is no field for a real card anywhere. Checkout always costs ٠ SAR.
Does it help people with a shopping addiction?
Dopamine Chic isn’t a treatment and doesn’t claim to be. I built it to see whether the thrill of a deal can exist without the bill, and everyone can judge for themselves whether it does that for them. If shopping is causing someone real problems, they should talk to a professional.
What data do you collect?
There’s no sign-up, and no name, address or card. Your orders, wishlist and achievements are kept on our server under a random ID, so the website and the app can share them. “Clear my data” deletes everything at any time.
Are the brands and products real?
No. All the brands are invented and all the product photos are AI-generated. Any resemblance to a real label is a coincidence.
Who’s behind Dopamine Chic?
Michał Pleban, an independent developer from Poland. I designed and built the website and the app myself.
Can I try it?
Yes, at dopaminechic.com in any browser. There’s nothing to download and no sign-up.
